The ADIS16228 iSensor® is a complete vibration sensing systemthat combines triaxial acceleration sensing with advanced timedomain and frequency domain signal processing. Time domainsignal processing includes a programmable decimation filterand selectable windowing function. Frequency domain processingincludes a 512-point, real-valued FFT for each axis, along withFFT averaging, which reduces the noise floor variation for finerresolution. The 14-record FFT storage system offers users theability to track changes over time and capture FFTs with multipledecimation filter settings.The 20.48 kSPS sample rate and 5 kHz flat frequency bandprovide a frequency response that is suitable for many machinehealth applications. The aluminum core provides excellentmechanical coupling to the MEMS acceleration sensors. Aninternal clock drives the data sampling and signal processingsystem during all operations, which eliminates the need for anexternal clock source. The data capture function has three modesthat offer several options to meet the needs of many differentapplications. In addition, real-time mode provides direct accessto streaming data on one axis.
