SY89854UMI TR General Description

The SY89854U is a 2.5V/3.3V precision, high-speed, fully differential 1:4 LVPECL fanout buffer.Optimized to provide four identical output copieswith less than 20ps of skew and less than 10ps(pp)total jitter, the SY89854U can process clock signalsas fast as 2GHz.The differential input includes Micrel’s unique, patentpending 3-pin input termination architecture thatinterfaces to any differential signal (AC or DC-coupled) as small as 100mV (200mVpp) without anylevel shifting or termination resistor networks in thesignal path. For AC-coupledinterfaceapplications, an on-board output reference voltage(VREF-AC) is provided to bias the center-tap (VT)pin. The outputs are 800mV LVPECL, with fastrise/fall times guaranteed to be less than 180ps.The SY89854U operates from a 2.5V ±5% supply ora 3.3V ±10% supply and is guaranteed over the fullindustrial temperature range of –40°C to +85°C.The SY89854Uis part of Micrel’s high-speed,Precision Edgeproduct line.inputAll support documentation can be found on Micrel’sweb site at: www.micrel.com.
