This 16-bit transparent D-type latch is designed for1.65-V to 3.6-V VCC operation. The SN74ALVCH162373 is particularly suitable forimplementing buffer registers, I/O ports, bidirectionalbus drivers, and working registers. This device canlatch.be used as two 8-bitWhen the latch-enable (LE)the Qoutputs follow the data (D) inputs. When LE is takenlow, the Q outputs are latched at the levels set up atthe D inputs.latches or one 16-bitis high, inputthedriveA buffered output-enable (OE) input can be used toplace the eight outputs in either a normal logic state(high or low logic levels) or the high-impedance state. In the high-impedance state, the outputs neither loadnorThehigh-impedance state and the increased drive providethe capability to drive bus lines without need forinterface or pullup components. OE does not affectinternal operations ofthe latch. Old data can beretained or new data can be entered while theoutputs are in the high-impedance state.significantly.linesbusThe outputs, which are designed to sink up to 12 mA, include equivalent 26-Wundershoot.resistors to reduce overshoot andORDERING INFORMATION
To ensure the high-impedance state during power up or power down, OE should be tied to VCC through a pullupresistor; the minimum value of the resistor is determined by the current-sinking capability of the driver.Active bus-hold circuitry holds unused or undriven data inputs at a valid logic state. Use of pullup or pulldownresistors with the bus-hold circuitry is not recommended.TERMINAL ASSIGNMENTS (1)FUNCTION TABLE(each 8-bit section)LOGIC DIAGRAM (POSITIVE LOGIC)
